This product is obtained through solvent extraction of dormant fruit buds of the blackcurrant bush, Ribes nigrum L. The extract is available as a concrete or an absolute.
Buds are harvested mechanically in July and August from crops grown exclusively for this purpose.
Tasmanian Blackcurrant Bud extracts have a distinctive aroma, possessing fresh top notes with an intense catty note overlying a fruity background.
